Nature Boy

I uncovered an old piece of writing of myself in my old sketchbook from when I was around 15 years old.

--"Sometimes fear of loss of a loved one comes so close, in a split second imagining a life without and finding but cold and emptiness I know what it means."--

And then one day
A magic day he came my way
And while we spoke of many things, fools and kings
This he said to me
"The greatest thing
You'll ever learn
Is just to love
And be loved
In return"

--"But how would it feel to be lost in return?"--

In short, how does it feel to have lost/lose someone, and have that feeling requited? How does it feel when one of the greatest feelings, is reversed and is shared with the same requited person. If your answer is painful and sorrow. You haven't gotten the greatest feeling just quite right yet.
